17. A ship you’ve abandoned and why.
This is gonna be a similar answer to one of the previous ones I gave, but the main one I can think of right now is Quark/Odo. I loved it early on, but Odo's behaviour put me off him as a character to the point where the ship wasn't appealing to me anymore. Other than that, I usually end up being bored of ships once I leave the fandom behind, with some exceptions. I tend to move from fandom to fandom every few months, because I get very intense obsessions that eventually burn me out, so to speak, and I need to get into something new. Again, there are exceptions to this, but it's very common with me.
18. A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships.
This is hard to answer, because I have some rare ships, but I'm sure there's at least one other person out there who ships them! For example, I really ship Chiana/Sikozu from Farscape, but surely I'm not the only one, right? I guess a more interesting answer would be a crack crossover ship I invented when I was about 14 years old... Hinata Hyuga from Naruto and Edward Elric from FMA. Why? I don't know! I think I was simply drawing something and drew them together, and then I decided they should date lol.

Date: 2024-05-08 10:55 pm (UTC)That makes me laugh because I'm the exact opposite! I tend to only find one or two fandoms, and hang on with my bare hands for ages. And ages. To be fair, I'm like that in general. I've had the same hairdo for actual decades. LOL.
ETA: Actually, that's not strictly true - I do have a few "floating fandoms", so to speak. But it's not unusual. Or hasn't been? I haven't been in that many fandoms because, well, the above.
ETA 2: Also, do you have a link to the questionnaire? I had it, then lost it in tab heaven.

Date: 2024-05-12 09:36 am (UTC)Oh yeah, same. I have no idea how I've managed to stay (loosely) in the same fandom for five years now. Definitely an outlier.
I'm sure there's at least one other person out there who ships them!
LOL, yes, that's usually true. I'm always happy when I find that one person.

Date: 2024-05-12 08:19 pm (UTC)It's a Chinese actor. His name is Zhu Yilong. I first saw him in a BL cdrama in 2018, and have pretty much followed everything he's done since. Most people still ship him with the same actor from 2018, but I've long moved on from that. There are quite a few other people who've done the same, but the numbers have dwindled lately, because two years ago he went from tv to making movies. So now there's less material, and movie fandoms are basically nonexistent, so there are only a few of us left. (Unless you count the ten million Chinese fans, of course.) And then I'm very much a shipper, and just following one actor doesn't really work for me that well (unless I can ship him with someone new repeatedly). It's been weird, to say the least. :D

Date: 2024-05-12 08:58 pm (UTC)hard to do with many actors who don't do many projects or do a lot of bad ones,
Yeah, that was lucky, too. There's always a lot of new material in terms of photo shoots or ads, but the movies are more problematic. Half of them are nationalistic propaganda nobody wants to touch with a ten-foot pole (but they have to act in those because political reasons), and the other half are just... not coming to theatres or streaming platforms here, either. Actually, there were two that ran in Cannes and other film festivals, so I actually got to see two of his movies in theatres. \o/ Otherwise, it's really hard to even find them. tv shows are usually streamed worldwide or just officially put on youtube, but movies... not so much. :/
