To Sign Up or Not To Sign Up

That is the question!

I'm considering signing up to this year's unconventionalcourtship. It's been years since I've participated in a fic event of any kind, so I'm a bit scared of not reaching the deadline or writing something that's ultimately unsatisfactory, at least to me. But since you can wait until pretty late to sign up, I've started to write a fic using one of the prompt generator summaries.

I'd really like to finish something and post it, but I tend to be really bad at finishing what I start. This is why I have a lot of drabbles, they can be written fairly fast so my attention span can handle it pretty well. Anyway, we'll see if I can finish it, because I've been eyeing this event for years since the concept seems really fun, but I'd never actually tried to participate.

I am writing a fic using a Mills & Boon summary for my fandom characters. But I haven't even signed up for the challenge, I'm just writing it in my own time for AO3 😂 I've gone rogue.

Omg, that sounds fun, though! I feel like the pressure to finish in time could help me, because I really am terrible at finishing my WIPs. What characters are you writing it about? I may not know the canon, but I'm curious now.

Well, it's Motorcycling RPF but they are in a cowboy AU. So it's not a conventional fandom 🤠

Ohh, interesting! I love the concept of cowboys as an AU.

When they go to races in America, they are always dressing up the riders as cowboys so it got me thinking! And the two I've chosen are just so pretty and they seem to have a love/hate relationship in real life.

Ohh, I didn't know they dressed them up like that, that's fun. And that sounds like a good basis for a ship, yup.

There's so many love/hate relationships in racing, it's very inspiring. Punching each other one minute then hugging the next 😅
