Hi, everyone! It's time to finish this fandom questionnaire, although there are two days left of this event. Don't worry, I'll find something to post about :)

25. A fandom you’re in but have no ships from.

Oh, now this is a hard question for me! I usually ship something in everything I watch, even if it's just lowkey, you know? Sometimes I'll watch a show or movie and enjoy it, but I don't consider myself as part of the fandom because I don't have fannish thoughts about it. Maybe I could say Discworld, if only because I haven't really read enough books yet to have any ships, but I'm also just assuming I'll end up shipping something. I've only read 5 Discworld books so far, so you never know!

26. What's a ship that you want to ship publicly, but everyone on tumblr hates it so you keep your mouth shut about it?

Honestly? I'm trying to be more open about what I ship these days. It can be scary, because people get DOXXED over ships these days, and I've had it happen to friends and to people who ship the same thing as me. But I also think it's horrible to silence yourself because of what people will say, you know?

For example, lately I'm shipping Lucy/The Ghoul (Fallout TV) because the parallels are very convincing and the fandom has so many cool fanworks about them. However, looking for their shipname (Ghoulcy) online gives you a lot of results that are just people hating on it and on the shippers. I still share the fanworks anyway, so I'm not keeping my mouth shut at all!

Another ship I'm pretty sure people would hate to know that I ship is Mariner/Ransom (Star Trek: Lower Decks). I don't necessarily try to hide it, but it's one of the shows that I try not to talk too much about online, since it's airing now and avoiding spoilers can be hard on social media. From experience, I think people probably dislike it because Mariner is bisexual and had a girlfriend until recently, and there's always a group of people who will be hostile towards M/F ships if the woman in it also has a woman as a romantic interest, if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure this happened with the 100 fandom and Clexa vs Bellarke (I liked both ships, by the way).

Sorry you're feeling like you may have to dodge incoming projectiles for voicing your ships. Such nonsense. Why are people.

Can't believe we're still stuck on the bisexuals are hetero if they're dating the opposite sex bs too :

I’m sorry to hear that there is so much hate for Lucy/The Ghoul, and I’ve also encountered the issue that some fans have problems with people who ship a bisexual woman in a m/f relationship. It’s a sad occurrence that fans are offended by that. The last time I encountered that was with Legends Of Tomorrow, where the producers even declared that they felt the pressure that bisexual lead Sara Lance should be with a woman so as not to offend a part of their fandom. I often think the issue fans have with this comes from early tv-portrayal of bisexuality, where it was often that, because of censorship, the tv-makers couldn’t or didn’t dare to show much of same-sex attraction, and made the decision to have the character return to a f/m relationship as soon as possible so they didn’t have to deal with the issue anymore. Now, this happened years ago, the period I’m thinking about is the early 2000s. I want to think we’re over this issue. The fandom should move on from this too.

I found out about that issue with Sara Lance in the WB: Full Arrowverse LGBTQ+ Panel, which can be found on YouTube. (If you’re interested, it can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JK2ztpm9Ek). I was also a bit surprised by this.
