19. What's a headcanon you have?

I have plenty! Well, let's see which ones I can remember right now. For Star Trek, I like to think that Cardassians lay eggs, for example. Oh! And this one's a bit crazy, I think, but for a while I've been thinking that the Sikozu in the Peacekeeper Wars was not the real Sikozu but a duplicate bioloid. I know this wasn't intended, but it's my personal headcanon because a) what she did was ooc to me b) it means the real Sikozu's still alive somewhere.

20. What are your favorite male/male ships or female/female ships?

But I have so many! Most of my ships are m/m and f/f! Well, okay, let's mention some.

M/M: Thomas/Jimmy (Downton Abbey), Joe/Rizzo (Midnight Cowboy), Kirk/Spock (TOS), Garak/Bashir (DS9), John/Scorpius and Scorpius/Braca (Farscape)

Oh I like Thomas/Jimmy, surely Jimmy was the most likely boyfriend for Thomas. If only Julian Fellowes had written a sweet but doomed romance for them...

Yesss, I'm so glad you also see it that way! We could've had it all, but Fellowes kept disappointing me. At least there's a ton of great fic out there!

I totally agree. Fellowes was too worried about shocking his audience IMO so we didn't get the stories we wanted. e.g. Thomas and Jimmy having to sneak around behind everyone's backs, the other servants taking sides, nearly being caught etc.

Yes we've got lots to read, which is great isn't it 😊

I still look for some new fic to read about them maybe once or twice a year, and there's always a gem I haven't read yet! And it's been over 10 years already, omg!

I still write fics about Thomas/Jimmy sometimes. Well, Thomas/anyone. Just to give the poor bloke some love and affection 🥰

It really is! People are still very active on AO3 at least.

I haven't even watched the movies, have you? I really was disappointed with how the show ended, especially for Thomas. I kept waiting for years for something good to happen to him and... nothing! Although I'm tempted to watch the movies, since I know he finally got some love in them.

They are, it's very popular.

I watched both movies. The first one has a brilliant storyline for Thomas! You must watch that. I loved it!

The second one has a mediocre story for Thomas. Mainly because they filmed it under the pandemic rules so Thomas wasn't allowed to kiss anyone, there was very little kissing in that film. But he is happy.

Ohh, I'll watch that first one, then. Thanks for the rec! I've just seen the news that they're filming a third movie now. I wonder how many more they'll make.

Definitely watch the first one, it's great for our man Thomas.

Apparently the third film will be the last one to round it all off, somehow. But I don't know if that is true.

btw I see your introduction, I also like Blake's 7, Babylon 5 and Xena, if you want anyone to talk to about those.

Oh, that's good to know! I hate when they keep releasing more and more movies or seasons and it feels like there's really nothing more to tell.

Glad to see we have several fandoms in common! I'm new to Blake's 7, so I might make some posts as I watch it. I'm almost done with season 1 :D

Yes, I can think of a few British sitcoms where they've gone on and on til all the jokes are dead and everyone is bored.

I watched Blake's 7 as a child, then rewatched it about 3 years ago, I got really into it and wrote quite a lot of fics. That show spawned a vast number of fics, it inspired so many writers.

And Babylon 5, I really adored that show! Sooo clever. So many great characters!

I might write fic for it myself, eventually! It's so exciting to know there are so many fics out there to read :) I particularly like getting into older fandoms because having access to fics that are decades and decades old is so impressive to me, as it means fans have bothered to archive them. And I like seeing how the tropes and writing styles have evolved over time!

Babylon 5 was so smart and so good. As a trekkie I was also impressed by Walter Koenig. He got to play such an interesting part and show off his acting skills in a way he never got to do as Chekov!

I think by the time you've watched to the end of the show, you'll probably need to write some fic, most people do! lol.

Yes there must be thousands! The Blake's 7 fandom was really against slash fics to start with but that attitude slowly disappeared.

Babylon 5 was brilliant and so satisfying that they got through the whole story arc and it wasn't left hanging. I really liked Stargate Universe but that was cancelled after 2 seasons, so that was disappointing. That should have continued, I think it would have been a good successor to Blake's 7.

I've read a bit about the history of slash in this fandom and it's certainly a lot, lol! But I'm glad to hear things got better over time.

Ohh, I've never really watched much Stargate myself, but Universe does sound interesting from what I've heard. I've watched a few seasons of SG-1, but I never got super into it (except for the Danny whump, because I'm that kind of person lol). Such a shame when shows when cancelled!

Yes, I wasn't around for the slash wars but I think eventually it all calmed down, there's certainly a lot of Blake's 7 slash!

Stargate Universe is VERY different to the other Stargates. It is DARK. I really wish they'd continued because the acting was top notch. Some great fics exist for that show too. I think someone even continued the story to a good conclusion but I think it was a podfic and I'm not really a listener, I'm a reader, so I don't listen to things like podfics.

Slash always finds a way, lol! And I'm glad it does.

I'm also a reader, I don't really listen to podfics. But that's good to know! I remember something about a long Stargate fic, for Universe but I think it featured other characters, too. People seemed to like it a lot, but I don't really remember its name.

Yes, there was so much sexual tension in Blake's 7, there had to be some slash.

I think the podfic is on AO3 but I can't be sure and I don't remember its name either😣 I just remember it says 'an epic conclusion.'

It's such a slashy show! I might write a review for season 1 soon, since I'm gonna finish it today.

Oh yes for sure it is. And it just gets more slashy in the following episodes IMO.

That's a good idea to write a review! Everyone has a different opinion of Blake's 7.
